A pair of pubs lie close to home in Boot, so you can tuck into delicious feasts and raise a glass to holidaying in the Lake District with loved ones. Sitting in the valley of Eskdale, find yourselves with plenty of tracks and trails to head out on including walks to Burnmoor Tarn (2 miles) and Stanley Ghyll waterfall (6 miles), or pack your swimmers and jump in for a wild dip in one of Esk’s natural pools. Explore both coast and countryside and make the 10-mile trip to Seascale for a day on the sand and treat yourselves to a tasty portion of fish and chips before returning home.

Arrive at this wonderful home and get ready to settle in. Head to the kitchen where you will find a double electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer  to help you cook delicious meals to enjoy together. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer. The breakfast table is perfect for gathering around with a cup of tea and for utilising as extra space to prepare ingredients. Dine in style in the grand dining room where a long table comfortably seats all 16 guests and has an original Victorian fireplace with an open fire to keep you warm. The dining room is also home to a piano, music system and somewhere to sit with a tipple or two, or you could fetch a board game from the cupboard in the hall and enjoy a competitive night. After dinner, head through to the inviting lounge where the sofas welcome you to sit by the second open fire and switch off in front of the Smart TV/DVD. Climb the stairs to the first floor where you can find four of eight bedrooms. Boasting terrific fell views, two king-size bedrooms are treated to en-suite shower rooms with WCs and there is a family room with three single beds. Completing the first floor, a single bedroom has an adjacent WC and there is an additional shower room. Find the four remaining bedrooms on the second floor along with another family bathroom and a separate shower room – all have low sloping ceilings. One double and three twins all have lovely views and hand basins so you can drift off for a peaceful night.

Boasting fantastic views, the enclosed border garden is a wonderful spot to enjoy. Let dogs stretch their legs whilst you spend a moment sitting and relaxing. 2 acres of natural grassland can be found at the rear of the home too, so there is no shortage of places to bask in the sun and enjoy a stroll. There is off-road parking.

Wonderful location and good facilities. Kitchen is quite small so suits those catering as a whole group rather than trying to cook for several smaller parties.

The house was large, comfortable and warm, very well equipped, with plenty of different sitting spaces and a huge table to sit round. It was very suitable for a large extended family get together. There are a number of walks straight from the house and plenty of room to park.

Great house for a group this was our 5th year looking to book for next year already - 12 adults with plenty of room and space to move around and the most amazing dining table seating easilly 16 people if required, the house is a superb base for walking with lots of various grade walks to be had. The nearby pubs are recommended with The Brook House Read morebeing closest staff really look after you special mention to The George, The Boot Inn & The Woolpack all offer good food & booze. Hide

The property is comfy, cosy and very well equipped. 14 of us stayed over the Christmas week and we had a great time- seeing the local area and playing lots of games! The Boot Inn is well worth a visit, as is the Mill. Plus a trip on the train to Ravenglass is a nice day out too.

A beautiful house nestled in an idyllic spot off the beaten track. For us, returning to Esk View is like getting a big hug from an old friend! We all had a wonderful stay at Esk View. There was plenty of room for our large family get together (8 adults and 6 children) and it was well equipped for us all. Fantastic house in an amazing location. Had everything we needed for a great long weekend. There are really nice walks going from the house so you don't even need to go anywhere once you are there. Kitchen had all the pots, pans and things we needed. Beds were comfy. A lovely stay.

Our party of 12. Made up of three families really enjoyed staying in this house. It is comfortable, roomy and in a lovely location. There is plenty to do from many walks from the door either low level or up to Scafel. Railway 5 mins walk too. Look out for the deer that seem to live in the garden and a huge frog (or toad?).
