Greystones is a pretty, detached, lakeland cottage in a quiet, idyllic setting by the river . The cottage was built on the site of the old bobbin mill. It is set in a small hamlet of Force Forge on the edge of Grizedale Forest. In summer we are sure guests will enjoy paddling in the pools alongside the garden and the large patio area ideal for barbecues and in winter the open fire is cosy and welcoming. Well behaved pets are welcome.
The accommodation comprises of
The entrance hall with coat pegs and places for muddy wellies and boots leads to the lounge with comfortable settees, TV (with Sky Plus) and DVD player, ipod dock sound system and open fire. The owners have equipped the cottage with broadband internet access for the use of guests. There is a phone for incoming and local calls. The french windows lead out onto the patio. At the front of the cottage there is a large dining room which also has access to the patio. There is a newly refurbished, very stylish kitchen. Equipped to a very high standard with built in electric double oven with ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and tumble dryer. There is also a breakfast bar making this a very social, attractive room and we are sure guests will really appreciate the care and attention to detail the owners have put in to designing their new kitchen.
There is also a newly refurbished downstairs wc which houses the washing machine. Upstairs there are 3 pretty bedrooms - two double bedrooms (one with stylish modern ensuite) and a twin with plenty of storage in fitted wardrobes. The main bathroom has a bath with shower overhead, wc and basin.
Outside there is a large, pretty patio with table and chairs and a BBQ. There is plenty of space for parking. From the side of the cottage there is access to the river for safety reasons we would stress that children must not be left unattended.

Comment: Lovely cottage, really homely and owners had thought of everything. Great base to go walking from. We have stayed all over the lakes in the past and this was one of the best. Loved the peace and quiet with the only noise being the beck running outside the cottage. Had a lovely spa day down at the swan hotel at Newby Bridge and best pub in the lakes for us has to be the Masons Arms,
Strawberry Bank, Cartmel Fell, which is about a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Best to book. As ever we were sad to leave and look forward to our next trip to the lakes.

Comment: Fantastic Location.
Cottage had everything, especially the kitchen, including a flask for walks & water bowls for our dogs! Little touches were much appreciated - tea & coffee welcome pack & toiletries in the 2 wonderful bathrooms.
We even had good weather!
Hideaways staff were exceptionally helpful.
To sum up - perfect, perfect, perfect.
Thank you

Comment: Greystones is a lovely house in a beautiful setting. It is really well equipped and was very comfortable for our family of four. It was great to have an open fire and to feel cosy and warm whilst it rained outside! The Grizedale Forest is great for walks and the children loved Go Ape. A great place for a family holiday.

Comment: A dream home for many. Although we did not cook much, the super well-equipped kitchen with almost everything one needs in cooking, baking etc. is most impressive and well thought out by the cottage owners. Cottage is well situated and we love sitting in the garden not going anywhere (of course we have had to go visiting the lakes and so on) It is a great and wonderful experience the cottage owner really puts heart and soul into keeping the cottage a comfort home for many in Chinese words translates to ‘managed with heart and soul is a great spirit , it makes you and user both happy and satisfied’. Thank you
