The Old Bobbin Mill is an historic Lakeland water-mill which was converted into a family home several years ago. Set in the peaceful hamlet of Force Forge in Grizedale, this two bedroomed cottage on 1 level, is fully self contained and forms part of the original building which is set in beautiful broadleaved woodland with a charming riverside position. Overlooking the large south-facing garden the cottage opens onto its' own private garden area, with separate parking space (up slate steps). Fishing is available in Force Beck which runs through the garden. This delightful, unspoit area is rich in wildlife and makes an ideal centre for walking and touring.

Grizedale Forest is two miles away and offers a fantastic choice of cycle tracks from the door, and also bike hire or try Go Ape for high wire tree top adventure.

The Old Bobbin Mill is 5 miles south of Hawkshead with a choice of shops and places to eat and drink. Or try the Eagles Head, a mile and a half away at Satterthwaite.

Comment: We had such a wonderful time here - the
cottage is well equipped, cosy and
comfortable, and the garden is
beautiful. The children especially loved
the garden - they paddled in the river
at the end and spent hours playing
badminton after Ron and Sue kindly lent
their set to us. Ron and Sue are
wonderful hosts - generally just leaving
us to get on with it, but making it
clear that they were always there if we
needed anything, and giving us some
great tips about where to visit locally.
The walks that are in the folder in the
cottage were lovely.
Grizedale Forest is on the doorstep and
has some amazing walks with loads of
hidden artwork among the trees - we had
a wonderful time there. Bobbin Mill is
a perfect central location to explore
the lakes from. We all (2 grown ups, 2
kids and a dog) had the most gorgeous
time and will definitely be visiting
again.

Comment: A very tranquil setting offering comfortable
accommodation with many walks available in all
directions. The location is central for exploring the
lakes or Morcambe Bay area with many areas of
interest within an hours drive. certainly worth a visit!

Comment: We love the Old Bobbin Mill. We have stayed three times. It is our favourite of all the Hideaways properties we have been to).The cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped. The surrounding countryside is superb - we love walking in the woods and fields straight from the cottage (and so does our dog, Ellie). The walk to Rusland Church is lovely and there is a superb (and little known) walk from Rusland Church around the Rusland Valley. The cottage is wonderfully quiet and relaxing. It has our highest possible recommendation!

Comment: We spent May half term there this year
and once again it was absolutely lovely.
It is a perfect place to relax in an
idyllic setting. You have everything you
need and all facilities are top notch.
Ron and Sue are most accomodating and
great with kids. My 7yr old wants me to
buy the place he loves it so much!
Definitely will be back.
