Comment: My husband really feels the cold so it was a huge help that Hideaways made sure the heating was put on in the morning of the day we arrived. The cottage was warm when we came and was warm and cosy all week. We really enjoy staying at Esthwaite Farm and Dewentwater is a gorgeous cottage....it is an exellent base for walking and other outings; we had a lovely week. Thank you!

Comment: Very cosy cottage. We loved the light dining
room/lounge with windows at both ends. It was also
great to be able to access the field from the lounge.
Everything is so well organised without being too
fussy. Beautiful quiet setting with a lovely walk down
to the lake. The dogs thought it was great too!

Comment: Superb, beautiful cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings. Lovely walks nearby and lots to do and places to go with our two retrievers. Will come back again and again in both summer and winter. Absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay. Excellent.

Comment: We love our holidays at Esthwaite farm. This year we went to a pub near by called the Cuckoo Brow. Very good for children as they have a games room down stairs. The pub welcomes walkers, dogs and children .Will definatley go again when on holiday.
Also the book shop in Hawkshead is a good place we have bought quiet a few books especialy those which show walks around the lakes. The children like to choose which walks we will do.
The zoo is also worth a visit

Comment: First class accomodation ideal for family or couples, main room doors open out to play field with a patio area table and chairs, good for the odd barbacue or keeping an eye on the kids.
Excellent base for the South Lakes, local Inn Tower Bank Arms is excellent for good quality real ales and food. Fishing permit as part of booking was a bonus, plenty to see in the local area for those less mobile.

Comment: Accomodation was in excelent condition, very clean and tidy.
Enjoyed the fishing as always.
Will book again for next year.
A good day is to walk to the ferry via the footpath through Far Swary. Take the ferry to Windermere, spend time in Windermere and then return via the ferry. Walk back to Esthwaite stopping for refreshments at Hilltop!!
