Ben Fold Cottage is a 400 year old Grade II listed cottage which offers everything you would want in a cosy country cottage. It’s perfect for a peaceful holiday in a picturesque location. It is a lovely detached property newly redeveloped with great flair by local craftsmen. It incorporates eco - friendly technologies with all modern conveniences whilst keeping the cottage character and charm.
Set in a quiet rural location amongst a small group of houses close to Tarn Hows with lovely views across the Esthwaite Valley. There is a pretty south facing garden with a choice of patios and lawns. Ben Fold also owns an extended area beyond the cottage with trees and footpaths adjoining farmers’ fields. The owners have installed several nature cameras which can be viewed on one of the television's installed in the cottage. A footpath from the garden provides an easy walk into Hawkshead
THE ACCOMMODATION COMPRISES OF
The door leads into the newly refurbished open plan kitchen/dining room. This room has a gas hob, separate electric oven, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and dining table and chairs. There is a TV with Sky Freeview. Off this kitchen/dining room is a utility room containing a washer, tumble dryer and WC. The separate living room within the original cottage contains a modern log-burning stove, surrounded by comfortable sofa and armchairs and TV with Sky Freeview.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs. A double with en-suite shower, washbasin and toilet, with TV/DVD (again with Sky) a twin room, and a second double with en-suite shower, washbasin and toilet again with TV/DVD (again with Sky). The separate bathroom has a shower over the bath, basin and wc.
The cottage is heated by a ground source heat pump system and solar panels (backed up by a electric heating system) making it eco - friendly and very warm!
Outside there is a separate room in which there are facilities for changing in/out of all walking gear.

Comment: We had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay in Ben Fold very much. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable and a nice place to stay when the weather is not so nice.
