Comment: Satterthwaite is a lovely quiet location, clean and tidy cottage with everything you need and easy access to the Grisedale trails. Useful shed to put a couple of bicycles in (you need to bring your own padlock).
Altogether brilliant for two people.

Comment: Had lovely holiday in Rose cottage. modern and easy to look after. excellant walks from the door. small quaint village. The Eagles Head pub was just a very short walk from cottage. They served the best meals I have had in the lakes, very welcoming and dog friendly. Would definetly go there again.

Comment: My Wife and I enjoyed a wonderful week in Rose Cottage, as did our Labrador. The cottage was superb throughout,as was the location. We found the enclosed patio area a perfect suntrap to relax in after walks and in the evenings, and ideal for the dog.
We found it an ideal base for walks through Grizdale forest and other walks centred around Hawkshead.
My wife and I would highly recommend a stay at Rose Cottage and we both look forward to another visit.

Comment: A really clean and well presented cottage set in a very quiet village. The pub has very limited opening hours though. There are plenty of walks into the forest, straight from the front door. The hot chocolate in the visitor centre is well worth the walk in itself.
This was our second visit and will probably be back.

Comment: We enjoyed a wonderful week at Rose Cottage, the accomodation was excellent with a really high standard of cleanliness and it offered all the comfort we needed.

Comment: The church opposite to the cottage is a little gem and well worth having a look.

Our trip to Brantwood House was also lovely, if guests have that sort of interest.

Overall, a great base, with Grizedale being such a nearby bonus if there are children.

The cottage was of a high standard and well placed for many activities without driving miles.

Comment: Myself and my husband stated at Rose Cottage with our two dogs. The cottage itself is lovely, perfect for 2. The log fire is great and the cottage is decorated to a very high standard.
The enclosed garden was great with the two dogs as they could not escape. We loved sitting in the garden in the evening listening to the owls.
The village of Satterwaite is lovely, just a small good pub there(2 mins from cottage).
We particuarly liked the walks from our doorstep, especially with the dogs. You could walk up the lane beside the cottage, up a track and you had miles and miles of woodland to explore in the Grizedale forest (even a small hill for you to climb up onto).
I would highly recommend a stay at Rose Cottage and look forward to going back there again.
