Sunnyside, built at the turn of the century, is the end cottage of a row of three, built in the style of Arts and Crafts and the owner has incorporated, furniture and decoration from this period to add to the charm of this delightful cottage.
The Accommodation
From the timber porch you step into the cosy sitting room with lovely open fire as a welcoming focus to the room. There are 2 leather settees and window seats and large flatscreen TV and DVD player and a CD - Tape - Radio.
From a central hall is the kitchen, fitted with oak units. This well equipped kitchen has an oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Opposite lies the dining room with table and chairs and there is a ground floor WC.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is furnished with an inlaid Edwardian double bed. The second has twin beds which has the flexibility of zip link beds (which can be joined if requested), and is furnished in a fresh and original style, with lovely views of the few surrounding cottages, and glimpses of the lake. The bathroom has bath, overhead shower, hand basin and WC.
There is a pretty traditional cottage garden with lawn to the front of the cottage towards the quiet country lane. The gravel drive also creates a secluded patio area to the side of the cottage. Bordered by stone walls and overhanging trees it is an ideal space for children to play and adults to barbecue and relax. There is also an acre of woodland behind the cottage for use of guests.
Oil central heating .
There is off road parking for 2 cars

Comment: We spent a fantastic week at Sunnyside Cottage. It is a lovely, comfortable and clean cottage. The enclosed garden was great for our dog. Lots of local walks.
We highly recommend this cottage and area, and will be returning in the future.

Comment: Very impressed with the cottage, it was nice to arrive and the cottage be warm with a light on to greet us.
The fuel shed was an eye opener, having been used to arriving places and there not being enough coal to light the fire, even when the heating was solid fuel !
The dogs made full use of the paddock, and everybody had a good time.
Thank you very much, we will be back.

Comment: The cottage is very cosy and the rooms are a very
good size. Everything is provided for a comfortable
holiday and I would certainly recommend Sunnyside
as a place to stay. There are lots of excellent walks
within close proximity and the co-op in
Hawkeshead provides the basics for your stay. The
milkman delivers daily and offers all the essentials.
Look no further than the Tower Bank Arms (200
yards walk) for a place to relax and eat in the
evenings. The ambience, beers, food and
welcoming log fire are superb!

Comment: We love the cottage, and although we were out and about every day , we ate in , thanks to the delivery of Cumbrian Foods , and the food is really delicious
and satisfying. On the day that it rained all day ,we went for a long drive ,calling at places such as Ambleside, Buttermere,Keswick ,Applethwaite,
Grasmere,Windermere,Bowness , finally , ferry to Sawry , and the scenery was magnificent. We have also been in a ferry along Windermere, done some shopping in Ambleside and Windermere, and one day , we actually visited
Morecombe Bay , and had a really good laugh at the shifting sands , but please do be very careful , as it could be dangerous.
There are plenty of nice local walks , and as we walked by the Lakeside , we were met by a long line of Mother Duck with her ducklings , and a very old duck at the end . It is lovely to see all the farm animals , and the little lambs and calves.
We always spend a day in Hawkeshead , and usually purchase a few items from the shops. Most enjoyable
