Comment: Lovely cottage, well equipped and lovely and clean. Great situation for walks and at the end of the day beds sooooo comfortable. Stayed in Beck Cottage during a very cold week but heating easily managed to make sure that the cottage was comfortable. Too cold to enjoy the beautiful garden but lovely to watch the birds and squirrels visiting from the large kitchen/dining room window. Nice picturesque walk along the beck on the doorstep and only a few minutes from Grizedale Forest. The Eagles Head in Sattersthwaite serves good bar food and is only a few minutes drive away.

Comment: We spent Christmas in this lovely cottage. (2011) The welcome – Christmas Tree, Mulled wine, and mince pies, and the fires ready laid, was just wonderful, after a long journey. We have all spent many holidays in the Lakes, but this was just great. The cottage is warm and very well equipped. I can’t think of anything that wasn’t there. Surroundings are lovely, and the neighbours made us very welcome. The Carols in the village Church was a very happy occasion for us. It was very welcoming at the Eagles head, we didn’t dine, but the food we saw looked very good wholesome food. We spent a good evening on Boxing Day joining in the Christmas Quiz. The Landlord and the Quiz Master were good fun. We hope to return to this part of the Lakes again.

Comment: Location and cottage were fantastic. Many of the good walks are easily accessible from Grizedale, and we especially like the Grizedale forest/park. Also recommend a trip to Wast Water and the energetic should climb Scar Fell
