Comment: Lovely modern apartment which we stayed in with our two boys (aged 9 and 7). Great convenient location round corner from main square so boys could scooter into square freely. On main road and on slight bend with quite narrow path but we still felt confident enough to allow boys to go out alone.
We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time. We did the walk to Tarn Hows and back (approx 6 miles) which our boys loved. We also went into the Grizedale forest and spent a great afternoon on couple of walks.
Our bed was lovely and comfy.
We ate at Sun and also the Red Lion. We found the menu at the Sun did not offer as much choice as in previous years but there are more than enough pubs to choose from. The food at the Red Lion was fab and even though very busy we managed to get a table and staff very friendly.

Comment: We loved Hawkshead and Bettys Loft was a really good place to stay. It was conveniently located for the village and pubs. The apartment was well equipped and very warm, which was important after walks on snow and ice. A simple guide for operating the cooker and slightly larger kitchen bins would have been useful. One problem, not directly related to the quality of the apartment but which concerned us, was the amount of dog-fouling outside the property. We will certainly recommend Lakeland Hideaways to friends.

Comment: Lovely apartment in a delightful village.
The property has a great view of
Latterbarrow.
We enjoyed having BBQs in the small garden
attached and all in all had a thoroughly
enjoyable break.

Comment: It was my first visit to the lake district and we had a wonderful week. Hawkshead is a picturesque village with a homely feel. Everyone we met was welcoming and helpful.Bettys Loft was clean and comfortable and we felt very much at home there. The only negative I can think of is that they only leave you one loo roll, but I had a whole week in one of the most beautiful areas on earth, so having to buy additional loo roll was never going to spoil my week. The best day was when I got up really early and set out at 6am for Tarn Howes - breathtaking beauty - all to myself!
