Directions to our Office

From the North -

Junction 40 M6 - onto A66 follow signs to Keswick then at Threlkeld village take the little left turn to St Johns in the Vale. The road winds through the valley then meets the larger A591.

Turn left and go through Grasmere and Ambleside and then follow signs for Coniston(A593).

Just outside Ambleside at Clappersgate take the left turn to Hawkshead. Hawkshead is about 10 minutes away on this road.

 

From the South -

Junction 36 M6 onto the A590. Continue on the duel carriageway for about 3 miles then take the left turn (A590) signposted Barrow in Furness.

Stay on the A590 until you get to Newby Bridge. Go straight across the roundabout and then soon after take a right turn towards the Swan Hotel (over a bridge) signposted to Hawkshead.

Stay on this rather twisty road for about 15 minutes and you will arrive in Hawkshead from the South.

ARRIVING IN HAWKSHEAD

As our office is on a little square accessed from the north of the village (opposite the Coop), please don’t bother parking in the main carpark - save your pennies and pull up outside our office to collect your keys - please note that there is no vehicle access from Market Square to our Red Lion Square. Wishing you a safe and stress free journey.

There is a car ferry across Lake Windermere (much loved by Sat Navs!!) this is a lovely way to cross to Windemere during your holiday. We would recommend that you do not use this as part of your journey as in Summer day trippers can lead to long, frustrating delays and in Winter it may be closed due to high winds or water levels.
